This Chevy/Cummins conversion always attracted a crowd.

When I looked at the judging criteria, I knew there was no point in entering my truck. From the rally instructions to members:

Well -  I work with my truck and, when traveling to rallys, we live in my truck. Not much chance of having it pass the index finger crowd. At the 1997 rally, we arrived after fourwheeling through mud and snow in the National Forrest at the north rim of the grand Canyon. The truck had mud on the sides, bumpers, mirrors, and even the roof of the camper. The only wash it got was the rain that fell in Nevada (360 annual days of sunshine, and it rained the day we arrived!). We entered it anyway, and (justifiably) brought howls of protest from those who had spent days detailing their trucks. We did not win! Unfortunately, there was no mud in Indianna so that I could duplicate my 97 feat of entering the dirtiest truck in a show and shine. I parked it off to the side, slapped the registration number on the side, and visited the vendors. George Rudy, my camping neighbor, shucked his camper off in the campsite, got out the rags to wipe down his truck (a snazzy blue 99 3500), and won.

Midway through the show, we had a rainstorm. The detailers were back at work as soon as the rain stopped. Diligence paid off at awards time.

Diesel Performance Products entered a twin turbo Ram with enough chrome under the hood to blind the unwary.

Joe Donnelly entered his truck which has seen some serious 4 wheeling. I gave him a vote, but his chance of winning was about as good as mine. I did get a few photos of his (well known on the mail-lists) front axle skid plate and front mounted hitch receiver.
